Fly in/out Child and Youth Care Practitioner- $42 per hour
Description Are you passionate about working with youth? If so, then this amazing opportunity is for you. We are seeking an experienced Child and Youth Care professional to work as a fly-in / fly-out Child and Youth Care Practitioner in Northern Quebec. Duties
Apply intervention plans for clients.
Provide positive reinforcement for client behaviour.
Organize and coordinate activities for the clients.
Observe, analyze, and record client behaviours.
Attend and participate in team meetings.
Comply with safety and prevention measures.
Supervise clients inside and outside the centre, including during any outings the clients attend.
Implementing emergency protocols, crisis interventions and non-violent physical interventions as needed.
Teach life skills to clients.
Your Qualifications & Skills
A minimum of 5 years of experience working with children and youth within a similar environment.
Post-secondary education in child and youth care or special care counselling, or a bachelor’s degree in psychoeducation, psychology, criminology, social work, or another relevant degree or diploma.
Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
English fluency is required, and knowledge of French or Inuktitut would be a strong asset.
Able to adapt and work well with clients from different cultural backgrounds.
Sensitive and understanding of the needs of others.
Mature with a strong positive attitude.
Able to collaborate well within a team.
Ability to work independently; a self-starter.
Resilience, independence, and confidence.
Working understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
Successful candidates are responsible for providing a recent clear criminal reference check, vulnerable sector screening, tuberculosis skin test, up-to-date immunization record, and a clear driver’s abstract.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6-8 weeks
