The City of Fredericton is currently seeking Experienced Police Constables. The Opportunity As a community orientated Police Constable, you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety, enforcing the law, and building strong relationships with the residents of Fredericton. Beyond patrolling, emergency response, and criminal investigations, you will be actively involved in community outreach, safety promotion, and crime prevention initiatives. This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to serve and protect in one of New Brunswick’s vibrant and growing cities. Who You Are As an ideal candidate, you possess strong problem-solving skills related to crime causation, community issues, prevention, protection, and court actions. With expertise in crisis intervention, you effectively manage conflicts, personal crises, and disasters. You are proficient in documenting and recording information for legal and research purposes, and adept at managing and analyzing data for investigative purposes. Additionally, you serve as an educator, imparting knowledge on crime prevention, security, and safety to the community. With exceptional communication skills, you excel at engaging with individuals and groups to prevent and solve criminal activities. You are skilled in preparing cases, collecting evidence, and taking legal action pursuant to relevant legislation. Qualifications · Graduation from a recognized Police Training Institution. · Ideally a minimum of five years’ experience · Meet departmental medical and physical standards, obtain security clearance. · Qualify for appointment as a Police Officer in accordance with the New Brunswick Police Act, Regulation 91-498.
