The Role and Responsibilities
This position is accountable for the operation of the Town’s fleet of equipment including, but not limited to: front-end loader, backhoe, dump trucks, ice control units, snow clearing equipment, and other motorized equipment and vehicles.
Requirements and Qualifications
· $25.00/hr with the opportunity for overtime, standby, and shift-differential;
· This is a unionized position working 40 hours per week;
· Two rotating shifts over the winter season;
· Free gym membership and access to fitness classes at the Paradise Double Ice Complex;
· Eligibility for health and dental coverage after three (3) months of continuous service;
· Opportunity to avail of summer seasonal employment
Successful candidates will be required to attain:
· Satisfactory Code of Conduct

- A valid Class three (3) Driver’s License with 08 and 09/09A endorsements for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador (abstract required);
- Experience in operating heavy equipment is required;
- Successful completion of a recognized post-secondary Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program is considered an asset;
· $25.00/hr with the opportunity for overtime, standby, and shift-differential;
