Outcome Consultants Inc. (OCI) is currently seeking a driven and results oriented individual to the position of Environmental Technician at a construction site in northern Canada.
Position:
The Environmental Technician must be familiar with sampling procedures for surface water, groundwater and soil and documentation procedures of environmental conditions. He/she must have at least two years of progressive experience conducting environmental field activities or in an environmental training program. Required to be on site full time during working hours, Monday to Friday minimum eight hours a day.
This is a locally based position, and the expectation is that you are, or will commit to residing in Yellowknife and will not require accommodations, living out allowances (LOA) or travel related to your position.
Qualifications:
Must have at least two years of demonstrated experience in a similar project role.
Technical diploma or, bachelor of engineering degree in related field of study
WSCC Mine Health and Safety Act Level 1 Certificate
Competencies:
Coordinate and conduct Surface Water and Groundwater Monitoring (SWGM)
Coordinate with the Ambient Air Quality Monitoring (AAQM) subcontract to ensure safe access
to the site perimeter monitoring stations
Help with erosion and sediment control logs
Visual inspections of entire property
Conduct tests in areas that spills of chemicals occur and submit results
Calibration and monitoring of onsite flowmeters
Collection and containment of contaminated water
Provide support in regulatory submissions
Maintain records of waste manifests and bills of lading
Provide guidance on Requests for Information and Potential Change Orders as required
Provide assistance to other team members, subcontractors and clients as requested
Self-motivated and with a ‘can-do’ attitude
Takes action to understand, persuade, or influence others in order to have a specific impact
Strong communicator and an effective integrator
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to resolve conflicts
Abilities:
Must be able to comprehend and communicate orally and in English
Work Environment:
Able to be on Call Out and Stand-by as required
Your scheduled work hours will be onsite at Giant Mine, NWT
Work in a team and individually
Ensure Daily, weekly reporting is completed and submitted,
Ensure Monthly reporting is completed and submitted to the client.
Provide excellent customer service to our clients.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Report any injury/illness/damage to the safety coordinator, project manager as soon as possible.
