Position Overview:
Apex Power & Automation has an opportunity available for a Journeyman Industrial Electrician. You will work as part of the construction/maintenance team to ensure that all mobile/plant equipment is maintained and managed to the highest degree of reliability in a safe and effective manner. Installations of new Technology/Communications on the mining heavy equipment. Small Automation projects from design all the way to commissioning. The typical shift is a 4 day 10 Hrs/Day week plus travel to the different mine sites
Principal Accountability:

• Electrical/Automation Construction Projects or various sizes
• Perform predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance on facility assets or mobile equipment
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance inspections on critical equipment
• Troubleshooting Skills are a must.
• Installation of new equipment and cabling
• Participate in meetings, training activities, and the site safety program

Qualifications:
Required:

• Possession of Inter-provincial Journeyman Electrician Certificate
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within an industrial maintenance environment
• Must be willing to work from heights and in confined spaces
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Basic knowledge of industrial safety with an absolute commitment to safety
• Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills, good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a non-temporary basis

Preferred:

• Experience in the mining electrical industry
• Experience in either the industrial electrical industry or commercial
• Experience with wireless communications, or radio networks
• Knowledge of soft starts and variable frequency drives
• Experience with PLC’s and reading logic drawings
• Potentially able to move to the Elk Valley in Southeastern B.C
