Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate efficiently through different routes. The Delivery Driver will play a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service during each delivery.
The Delivery Driver works early morning shifts 5 days a week - Tues/Weds/Fri/Sat/Sun. Shifts begin at approximately 6am and can run up to 10 hours a day in the summer season and will require travel between Charlottetown, Cavendish and Summerside.
Delivery van is included while on shift but the van remains at the business overnight. A successful candidate must have their own reliable transportation to Milky Way. The shifts begin earlier than the bus route, so your own vehicle to arrive to work is required.
Duties

• Delivery Duties: Safely and efficiently deliver bakery and café products to customers, ensuring orders are accurate and presented well.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns professionally and courteously.
• Route Management: Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations while maintaining fuel efficiency.
• Order Verification: Double-check orders before leaving the bakery to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the delivery vehicle clean and well-maintained, reporting any issues to management promptly.
• Inventory Management: Assist in loading and unloading delivery items, ensuring proper storage and handling to maintain product quality.
• Communication: Maintain clear communication with the bakery team regarding delivery schedules, customer feedback, and any issues that arise during deliveries.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Current Drivers Abstract
• Experience in commercial driving is preferred.
• Ability to handle freight safely and efficiently.
• Forklift certification is beneficial but not required; training may be provided.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to arrive to work on time consistently
