We are currently seeking Deck Highway Dispatcher to join our team. The Deck Dispatcher will carry out all the day-to-day associated with the Dispatch function. Duties and Responsibilities
Manage incoming calls from customers in a positive manner
Enter shipment information into the dispatch computer system accurately and quickly
Efficiently dispatch Deck equipment and staff to ensure on-time delivery and no missed pickups
Verify that all pick-up and delivery calls are properly routed
Communicate with other Gardewine divisions and rural terminals as required.
Address customer inquiries as required
Complete and file dispatch reports
Book appointments
Coordinate with Customer Service to ensure a high level of service and minimal service disruptions
Perform all work in a safe manner and comply with all Gardewine safe work practices, policies, and procedures
On call to deal with issues that need immediate action
Other duties as assigned and required within the Deck department
Qualifications Must have one to two years related experience. Excellent computer skills. Strong communication skills and able to work in a fast paced computerized office environment. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to work as a team and provide professional customer service. Experience with Deck activities (preferred) and/or general freight handling. Knowledgeable with Deck dispatch operations preferred. Good knowledge of Canada's geographical area. We Offer
