Instructor for Course: The Canadian Workplace, MGMT 0132
Contact hours: 24 contact hours.
Description:
Extended Education is seeking a subject matter expert to instruct MGMT 0132 - The Canadian Workplace as part of the Intensive Full-Time Program package for Applied Human Resource Management.
Responsibilities:
Applicants must hold a related degree or possess a suitable combination of education (CPHR certification) and experience working in the field of Human Resource Management.
In addition, applicants should have experience in adult learning and teaching, excellent communication skills in the English language, excellent interpersonal skills, and be highly organized. Applicants must be committed to life-long learning and embrace a learner-centered approach to teaching. The ability to engage students in their learning environment and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion are an integral part of the position. Assets also include experience instructing at a post-secondary level, using teaching and learning technology (e.g. Um Learn and Zoom), experience teaching in multiple modalities including blended (online and in-person) delivery and demonstrated leadership skills.

- Facilitating course delivery
- Classroom management
- Creating original student assessments and exams, including alternate exams as required
- Grading and returning exams and assignments according to the course schedule
- Providing ongoing feedback on student performance
- Preparing supplementary course materials as needed
- Adhering to UM policies and procedures, as well as Extended Education’s regulations, including academic integrity
- Access to a personal computer, camera and headset are requirements for this position.
