JOB OVERVIEW
The CELPIP Preparation Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching to help students improve their English language proficiency specifically for the exam. He/She will have the opportunity to work with diverse groups of prospective test-takers, providing them with the necessary skills and strategies to succeed in the exam.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The CELPIP Preparation Instructor will be primarily responsible for teaching CELPIP preparation course onsite at MAGMA, as well as preparing prospective test takers to improve their English language skills and reach their target scores on the CELPIP General and CELPIP Listening Speaking (LS) Tests which includes a 72-hour classroom preparation program in four 18 hours modules each for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking components.
CELPIP PREPARATION PROGRAM SPECIFIC
- Instruct and deliver in-person CELPIP Test Preparation Course
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans to students
- Provide individualized support to students to enhance their learning experience
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess student progress and provide feedback for improvement
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall curriculum
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- An associate degree or equivalent experience in Social Sciences, Arts, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Instructors must have at least 1 year of English teaching, English test preparation, or formal English tutoring experience to be eligible
- Experience teaching English as an Additional Language to Adults (EAL)
- CELPIP Certification (Desirable Asset)
- Readiness to complete CELPIP Instructor Training
