Offshore Recruiting Services Inc. (ORSI) in conjunction with our client, MTS, has an immediate requirement for an Assistant Shipyard Supervisor in support of shipyard operations in Hay River, NWT. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Assist the Supervisor, Shipyard Operations with various tasks and responsibilities. · Assist in coordinating labour and equipment operations. · May be designated as an on-site supervisor responsible for the health and safety of the workers being supervised and to ensure quality work is being performed. · May be designated to inspect various equipment and assets. · May be designated to perform various labour duties. · May be designated to assist various MTS departments. · Will be required to attended various training opportunities relevant to shipyard supervisory roles. Required Education, Experience, and Qualities. · Grade 10 or equivalent. · Two years shipyard work experience. · Strong coordination skills. · Strong communication skills. · Strong leadership skills. · Strong safety culture. · Ability to work extended hours. · Ability to travel. · Basic computer skills. · Basic administrative skills. · Supervisory experience is an asset. · Trades experience is an asset · Heavy duty equipment experience is an asset Employee Incentives:
Northern allowance of $ 310.96 is payable bi-weekly.
Vacation pay is 9%. There are 12 stat holidays.
Overtime payable at 1.5 after 8 hours Monday through Friday and one Saturday. Double time after 8 hours Saturday and Sunday.

This is a camp job and there is eligibility for a $60 tax free per diem.
