What you will be doing As Transport Project Manager your main purpose is to design, set up and manage logistics projects and to establish active stakeholder management. Overall you contribute to global, sustainable and safe transport and external logistic solutions for Umicore’s products from different Business Units. The solutions you design, are future proof, cost effective and compliant with the applicable regulations for the transport and storage of eg Dangerous Goods, (hazardous) waste and valuables. You also contribute to the development of transport management processes of existing and new Umicore sites all over the world. Detailed responsibilities:
You actively investigate and set up different logistics projects that improve Umicore’s supply chain in terms of cost, efficiency, compliance and sustainability, whilst taking the requirements and specificities of the different business units into account.
You proactively identify gaps and opportunities for improvement and discuss them with the strategic business partners.
You develop and implement projects and contribute to the design and implementation of procedures, systems and processes.
You lead the project teams by guiding, inspiring and motivating them to reach the project goals within the predefined timing.
Who we are looking for An enthusiastic colleague with:
A Master’s degree in business or logistics management or equivalent through experience
Min 5 years of experience in the field of transport or logistics management
Comprehensive knowledge of project and process management
In depth knowledge of transportation processes, the operation of various transportation modes, available transportation solutions, and transportation systems
A good understanding of market trends regarding digitalization and sustainable transport
Next to that, you:
Enjoy tackling challenges and you have a continuous improvement mindset
Are a strong communicator, focusing on clear and effective communication to all stakeholders
Show strong organizational skills to manage tasks, timelines, and resources efficiently and you prioritize and manage tasks effectively to meet the project deadlines
You are fluent in English and Dutch
