Research Associate (Ph.D. position) in Applied Microeconomics
The Department of Public Finance (Prof. Dr. Florian Morath) at the University of Innsbruck is seeking to fill a position as a
Research Associate (Ph.D. position)
in the field of Applied Microeconomics, in particular Public Economics and Political Economy.
The appointment will be for a period of 4 years (20 hours/week; extended to 30 hours/week upon submission of the “doctoral thesis agreement”), starting as soon as possible or by agreement. The successful candidate will join the Faculty of Economics and Statistics at the University of Innsbruck. The main tasks of the successful candidate are to conduct independent research for a Ph.D. dissertation in the field of Applied Microeconomics as well as limited teaching obligations and administrative support.

- A close integration into the Faculty of Economics and Statistics as an international center of theory-based empirical and experimental research as well as into the interdisciplinary research area Economics, Politics & Society
- Participation in the Ph.D. program of the Faculty (offered jointly by the University of Innsbruck and the University of Linz) and summer schools
- Various opportunities to interact with other researchers and collaborate in international research projects
- Participation in research seminars and international conferences, international exchange, etc.
- A Master’s degree in Economics or a related field (to be completed upon start of the contract)
- Very good command of English; ability to teach in German
- Social skills, teamwork abilities, communication skills
