WHO WE ARE Salzburg Global Seminar is an independent non-profit organization founded in 1947 with a mission to challenge current and future leaders to shape a better world. Together with our world-spanning network of 40,000 Fellows, we have been at the forefront of global movements for change for 75 years, with significant impact on individuals, institutions, and systems.
Whether at our home of Schloss Leopoldskron, online, or in locations around the world, our programs are inclusive, interdisciplinary, international and intergenerational. They are designed to provide a global lab for innovation and transformation. We convene cohorts of passionate changemakers across diverse fields and backgrounds. WHAT WE OFFER The internships are full-time, for a maximum period of three months. Although the position is not paid, we will provide the successful candidate with:
board and lodging at Schloss Leopoldskron,
a return ticket for their country of origin,
excellent networking opportunities with the international participants of our programs.
Internship start dates for the Hong Kong Universities Internships are available in:
mid-April,
late May.
Should your application be successful, we will provide the exact internship dates with the internship offer. Due to program scheduling and accommodation reasons, we do not accommodate internship requests outside these fixed periods.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING The Hong Kong Universities Internship is for students currently enrolled or recently graduated from a university in Hong Kong. It has been made possible thanks to the support of our generous donors.
As an integral part of our programs, your role will be key to the successful running of our programs. You will be responsible for supporting their preparation, administration, and implementation. The team will rely on your organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
You will have unique opportunities to broaden your knowledge within our Pillars’ scope (Health, Education, Culture, Peace and Justice, Finance and Governance). This internship is also a springboard for relationship-building with thought-leaders and change-makers worldwide. Where possible, interns will be assigned projects directly connected to their specific skills and interests.
Duties include:
Researching relevant program topics, partners, and participants, including compiling biographies;
Preparing program materials before each program;
Ensuring the smooth running of programs by providing event management and technical support (in sessions: recording lectures, controlling the sound system, managing the microphones, presentation visuals management, etc.);
Providing reliable operational support to the program team and the participants throughout programs;
Note-taking during online meetings and programs;
Providing database support;
Providing administrative support such as updating internal documents, printing, copying, and mailing.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You have recently completed or are in the process of completing a Bachelor’s degree with a demonstrable interest in one of Salzburg Global’s program areas.
You are enthusiastic about our mission;
You have a can-do attitude, are able to multi-task, are proactive, and willing to work flexible hours according to the running program’s needs;
You have excellent writing and communication skills in English, including editing skills;
You thrive in culturally and professionally diverse environments;
You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
Note: German language skills are not required.
