Trainee Parks and Reserves

The Parks and Reserves team at Council is known for the pride they take in maintaining, operating, and constructing the City’s parks, reserves, and recreation facilities.
We are looking for a trainee to join the Parks and Reserves team. If successful you will receive paid, on the job training whilst studying towards a nationally accredited Certificate III in Horticulture over a 3-year period.
Duties and Responsibilities

Garden and grounds maintenance
Mulch, prune, pot and water plants
Use of garden tools, plant and machinery
Maintenance of irrigation systems
Brush cutting and mowing
Pest and weed control, minor landscaping works
Assisting with the maintenance of sporting grounds
Liaison with supervisors and other team members

Skills and Knowledge

Enjoy working in the outdoors and working with garden tools
Be committed, reliable and hardworking
Display initiative, manage and prioritise time and tasks effectively
Work effectively in a team and have good communication skills
Have a can-do attitude, displaying initiative
