This role is pivotal to the success of V/Line Daily operations and workforce management. About the role The Team Leader – Workforce Controller will lead the team of workforce controllers and manage the rostering function in the day of operations portfolio. The position will support and guide the Workforce Controller team with day-to-day challenges/planning and provide reporting on staff movement trends and training to support Train Services. This position is responsible for identifying trends, problem-solving with the team and supporting sustainable solutions for consistent and repeatable results, including reporting and process implementation. Key Accountabilities include:
Lead the Workforce Controller team to ensure that daily and short-term rostering of Drivers supports V/lines delivery objectives,
Ensure the rosters are prepared in line with rostering and rail safety principles to manage fatigue,
Strive for continuous improvement opportunities including maintaining compliance to relevant legislation, procedures and process improvements,
Engage with relevant internal stakeholders to support all planned service changes including Occupations, Special Events and Public Holidays,
From time to time, this role will be required to provide coverage of the Workforce Controller position to ensure seamless delivery of V/lines service offering.

Large-scale rostering experience in a related industry (trams, fleet cars, airlines, rail etc).
Forward planner and have experience managing multiple business requirements simultaneously.
Be an experienced people leader or demonstrate people leadership qualities.

Maintain a high attention to detail.

The primary place of work is Southern Cross with the option to work at sites throughout the network as required however remote working is not possible. Salary for this role will commence at $138k base plus superannuation.
