ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Sponsorship & Commercial Assistant (SCA) to connect with an incredible client portfolio that includes brands such as Lion, UBank, ASOS, Red Bull, and many others targeting Australia’s next generation of influencers.
Reporting to the Sponsorship & Commercial Manager (SCM), you will play a vital role in enhancing and marketing innovative campus opportunities, including our Welcome Week programs, as well as a diverse range of events, brand activations, advertising initiatives, and sponsorship/member programs.
We are looking for a driven sales professional who can foster and maintain strong working relationships with both internal colleagues and external clients. If you have a passion for collaborating with youth-focused brands, this role is perfect for you. You will actively contribute to the ongoing growth of the USU’s revenue base, enabling us to deliver world-class programs and services to over 75,000 University of Sydney students.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Assist in achieving sales targets across various commercial channels, including advertising, event sales, brand activations, and sponsorships.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring the timely delivery of benefits and activities.
Maintain CRM databases, assist with invoicing and payment tracking, and prepare sales collateral.
Support event logistics for major USU programs, ensuring all sponsor and exhibitor requirements are met.
Collaborate with relevant departments to maximize value and service excellence for our clients.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Work experience in a sales environment ideally in related field such as advertising/ media sales/ working in or with youth brand markets
A desire to work in a sales and youth market environment
Motivation and personal ambition to learn & succeed
Demonstrated commitment to innovation
Competent level communication ability & great attention to detail
Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills and the ability to perform under pressure, plan workflow to meet deadlines and be proactive in problem solving
Proficient in using computer programs such as Microsoft Office & Excel
Ability to manage stakeholder effectively and provide high quality customer service
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Tertiary qualifications in marketing / PR / event production / sponsorship
HOURS OF WORK
The role requires availability for 3-4 days per week during peak periods and 2 days during off-peak times, with typical working hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Please note that during Welcome Fest, hours may vary based on business requirements.
SALARY
$35.73 per hour + 12% superannuation
