Specialised Carer - Dementia Care

Hammond Care Wahroonga is currently looking for several Perm, Part-Time Specialised Carers to join our team.
Our cottages provides current, evidence-based and personalised dementia-focused care to our elderly residents. We have modelled our cottages to feel like ‘home’ for the residents in our care. While no day is the same, you will need to provide:

Personal care – showering, grooming, toileting, dressing, pad changes
Domestic assistance - meals, basic cleaning and laundry
Engagement with the residents, ensuring they are involved in the activities they WANT to do.
Recognise, report and respond appropriately to changes in the conditions of residents within your skills and competencies.

Whats on offer: We have two roster patterns for the right Hammond Carers who can cover

Tuesday to Friday: 230pm to 915pm OR

Tuesday to Saturday: 230pm to 915pm

All new staff will complete a mandatory onsite orientation with a Workplace Trainer, have buddy shifts and be supported by experienced Registered Nurses, Allied Health team and Managers on site.
To be successful in this role, you will:

Have a minimum of 1 year experience in Aged Care/Dementia Care
Have knowledge of complex dementia care including challenging behaviours
Be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including nights & weekends.
Have knowledge & experience of people living with Dementia & their needs.
Applicants with Cert lll or Cert l V in Aged Care would be viewed favourably.
