Job Summary
As a Ramp Service Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to lead a team of Ramp Service agents in surpassing the service delivery expectations of Swissport's clients, which include airlines, and their passengers. Your daily duties will encompass ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability in operations. You will oversee key objectives for your assigned shift and specific clients, working in close collaboration with peers to meet and exceed overall team goals.
Additionally, you will act as a cultural ambassador and role model within the company, demonstrating and guiding others in upholding our corporate culture and aligning with our strategic direction. This role requires a commitment to excellence and leadership in maintaining Swissport's high standards of service.
Applicants should be prepared to work on a rotating roster that covers Monday to Sunday, including public holidays.
Your activities
- Lead and develop the customer service team to exceed operational performance targets.
- Ensure accurate and timely KPI entry.
- Exceed on-time performance targets and resolve issues affecting OTP.
- Surpass client ramp service expectations in all realms of ramp / baggage services.
- Maintain terminal cleanliness and monitor team uniform and grooming standards.
- Educate the team on their impact on airline customer experience.
- Uphold strong ramp service during normal operations and disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and mandatory training.
- Promote safety, conduct briefings, and participate in safety meetings.
- Provide OH&S guidance and ensure PPE adherence.
- Maintain workplace security and report safety issues.
- Recognise and reward team performance and conduct quality checks.
- Seek efficiency improvements in customer service operations.
- Uphold company culture, values, and policies.
- Ensure the team has the tools and equipment needed.
- Maintain effective communication with airport stakeholders.
Your profile
- Proven track record in a dynamic aviation ground services is ideal.
- Demonstrated people leadership in aviation or transferable skills related to leadership.
- Ability to provide constructive coaching and feedback to team members.
- Capacity to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative and drive.
- Proficiency in high-level administrative tasks, planning, problem-solving, and organizational responsibilities.
- Exceptional time management skills with adept task delegation abilities.
- Desirable familiarity with regulatory frameworks, safety systems, emergency response procedures, and airport operations.
- Understanding of aviation safety and workplace health safety policies, practices, and principles.
- Outstanding customer service, communication, and conflict management abilities.
