Bear Cottage Children's Hospice is situated in MANLY and cares for children with terminal conditions and also their family members. Bear Cottage provides a home like environment and care is provided by a dedicated team of professionals. The Housekeepers are an important part of this team and are required to ensure the facility is clean and tidy at all times. They are responsible for all areas of the house which includes general cleaning tasks and the laundry. Bear Cottage is a supportive and friendly environment and set in a beautiful environment on the hill in Manly. If you would like to be a part of this team, have a good work ethic and attention to detail we would love to hear from you. This is a 4 day/ week, 6 hours / day role and flexibility is required as it does include weekend work.
What you'll be doing
Ensure Bear Cottage is maintained in a clean and tidy state for all patients and families at Bear Cottage
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality cleaning services with previous experience in a healthcare facility or commercial/industrial cleaning role
- Ability to communicate effectively, with all levels of staff, as well as patients/clients and members of the public
- Demonstrated ability & capacity to work independently and as part of a team with a commitment to customer service
- Knowledge of work health and safety principles, including safe manual handling and infection control
- Ability to take the initiative & respond to changes in cleaning requirements, with ability to prioritise tasks and problem solve
- Participation in a 7 day rotating roster that includes weekends, public and school holidays.
