Our client, a multi enterprise business located in the mid north of South Australia, seeks applications for a full time Mixed Grain Farmer. We invite applications for a full time Mixed Crop Farmer. Main Duties The Mixed Grain Farmer shall be generally responsible for the following duties:
inspect crops for disease, pests, growth and maturity;
machinery maintenance – undertake regular and thorough inspections for wear and tear and any problems with such machinery and seek to address the same as a matter of urgency in order to minimise downtime (either directly or through Senior Management);
liaise with Management and staff on various tasks requiring attention;
load hay/grain;
inspection of bales and grain in storage for both quality and pest infestations;
operate machinery relevant to sessional timing (for example, seeding harvest);
at all times to record processes undertaken and to report to Senior Management as to the same; and
attend regular Agronomy-based meetings with various parties.
Skills, Knowledge and/or Qualifications The Mixed Crop Farmer must have:
Bachelor level qualifications relevant to the occupation;
at least five years’ relevant employment experience;
a high level of organization and management skills;
· a high level of initiative and self management; · an ability to be flexible and deal with and meet conflicting deadlines; and · a commitment to the farming life.
