Long Term – 3 years ideally. About the Family: This role is for a professional family with two young children. Both parents are working professionals and both work from home from time to time. The children will be approximately 12 months and 3.5 years old when the position begins. As a family, they enjoy outdoor activities such as bush walking, beach trips, and bike riding at the local park. They are fortunate to live within walking distance of several parks, playgrounds, and a child-friendly bowls club that has a café with toys. Their 3.5-year-old daughter loves role-playing, jumping on the trampoline, and playing in her cubby house. She’s an active child who enjoys riding her scooter and is becoming quite the little artist, often asking to paint or draw. Their youngest, a 12-month-old boy, enjoys being carried so he can observe the world around him, especially dogs and airplanes, and is a laid-back baby who has not yet started crawling. Like his mother, he is deaf and will be getting bilateral cochlear implants before December. He does not wear his hearing devices during naps, water play, or baths. What We Are Looking For: We are seeking a nurturing and experienced nanny to provide exceptional care for these two young children. The ideal candidate will foster a playful, caring, and developmentally appropriate environment, ensuring the children feel safe and comfortable when their parents are working. We are looking for someone who brings warmth, fun, and creativity to the household, planning engaging activities and spending quality time with the children throughout the day. The nanny should be patient, organized, and able to maintain routines and daily tasks. Confidence in managing cochlear implant devices is a plus, but not essential, as training can be provided. This family communicates using spoken English, so familiarity with Auslan is not required, though it would be a bonus. The nanny should have clear English-speaking skills to indirectly support the youngest child’s speech and language development. Tasks: - Engage the children in age-appropriate activities such as playing with toys, supporting developmental milestones, encouraging independent play, reading books. - Playing with/supervising oldest child as she plays in backyard: family has a trampoline, large cubby house with sandpit, painting tools and sometimes the camping tent comes out - Focus on play based learning (reading books, singing, role playing) - Manage routines, feeding solids, , managing awake windows and naps (currently youngest is on 2 naps per day) - Feeding the children morning/afternoon tea andlunch - Planning educational /indoor and outdoor activitiesand outings.
