The Role
Our Lenah Valley site in Hobart manufactures a range of more than 50 milk, milk-based and cream products, with all products made from fresh milk sourced directly from Tasmanian dairy farms. The site currently produces around 33 million litres of product every year, operating 6 days a week and employing around 50 people.
We’re seeking a Quality Manager to lead a team of 6 technical staff ensuring effective systems are in place so that all product and processes achieve required Quality, Food Safety & Environmental standards, while meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
Also responsible for investigating and setting standards for quality, health and safety, and analysing the effectiveness of processes and quality management systems.
Responsibilities

Identify, analyse, and evaluate the effectiveness of current policies and business processes that are in scope of the Quality Management System

Develop and validate complex new test methods and procedures for a product or operations segment, incorporating new technologies

Monitor quality performance to ensure continuous improvement of quality KPI's (e.g. GMP, Corrective Action closure, consumer/trade complaints)

Proactively drive improvements in systems and processes. Recommend appropriate actions for the site and suppliers.

Lead audit programs, including GMP Audit, Internal audit schedule.

Facilitate stakeholder engagement in relation to the implementation of strategic and operational plans for Quality, Food Safety, and the Environment

Coordinate the preparation of timely and correct reporting of matters relating to Quality and Environment

Actively participate in major site’s environmental projects.
About you
-
Degree qualification in food science or strong experience in a similar role within FMCG
-
Experience in implementing and maintaining 3rd Party and Regulatory Quality Management Standards within an FMCG environment

Certification in HACCP and knowledge of Goods Manufacturing Practices
-
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, being able to facilitate change through continuous improvement activities

Sound knowledge of laboratory, quality, and environmental management systems.
