About the role As our Manager (Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce) you will: - Lead and manage the policy and operational delivery functions within the Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce (FAST) area including a team of Project Officers to deliver red imported fire ant suppression activities by a wide range of stakeholders as outlined in the FAST Work Plan 2024-25 and FAST Plan 2022-26.- Oversee the development of collaborative agreements and other appropriate documents with local, state and federal government agencies, impacted industries and other key stakeholder organisations.- Negotiate and communicate with a broad range of stakeholder groups in South East Queensland on behalf of FAST, including local, state and federal government partners, industry peak bodies and community organisations.- Lead the development and writing of FAST annual reports utilising different data sources, annual workplans and other program reporting as required. Initiate, oversee and develop high level statements of advice, briefing notes, reports to internal and external committees, presentations, speeches, guidelines, correspondence (including ministerial correspondence and Questions on Notice) and submissions to Cabinet.- Support the Director - FAST by providing specialist technical, policy and legislative advice and direction to support the operational delivery of FAST and its support for the eradication efforts of the National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP).- Contribute to the development of team planning processes and the maintenance and evaluation of policies, procedures and systems needed to ensure effective stakeholder engagement practices and outcomes within FAST.- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including various functional areas in the NFAEP and FAST, to ensure successful implementation of the FAST Work Plans. This will require a demonstrated understanding of operational delivery, stakeholder management and customer relations, amongst other key skills.- As most FAST staff are located in Berrinba, it is preferred that the applicant work from that location. An option can be negotiated to work flexibly from both the CBD and Berrinba each week.
You may also have -- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or relevant transferable experience would be desirable.
