About the Opportunity
Our client, Local Cellars in Renmark, South Australia, is seeking a full-time Liquor Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their small liquor store. Renmark is part of a thriving wine region, and this role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for wine and customer service to make their mark.
Reporting to the Store Manager, the role is responsible for managing stock, overseeing a small team of part-time staff during peak days, and ensuring excellent customer service as you will often be the sole person operating the liquor store.
Your responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the daily operations of the liquor store, ensuring smooth service
Ensuring compliance with liquor licensing laws and regulations
Maintaining inventory and stock levels, including ordering and managing stock flow
Managing customer service and driving customer satisfaction, a key performance indicator (KPI)
Using EMC Gap solutions for pricing management and ensuring stock is correctly priced
Experienced in managing staff in a retail environment
Creatively merchandising and setting up stock displays
Must hold or obtain a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
Maintaining a strong GP% and growth in sales
About You
We’re looking for someone who is not new to the industry—ideally, you’ll have at least one year of experience in a similar role and be able to step into the role confidently. Wine knowledge is a significant advantage in this region, which is the largest supplier of grapes in Australia. If you understand wine and have a passion for the industry, this is a great opportunity for you.
To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and attributes:
Strong knowledge and experience in managing a liquor store or similar retail environment
Knowledge and passion for wine, with an understanding of beer and spirits
Excellent customer service skills and a proven ability to meet customer experience KPIs
Confidence in managing stock and ordering, with experience using EMC Gap solutions or similar systems
Experience managing supplier invoicing and stock pricing
Great communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
The ability to work independently and manage a small team of part-time staff
A high level of PC literacy and organisational skills
A valid driver's license.
