Female Disability Support Worker
I'm currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team at Being Humane Pty Ltd in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. This role is on a casual basis, offering flexibility for those looking to make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live their lives to the fullest. Your role will involve helping clients with daily tasks, personal care, and community participation, all while promoting independence and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing personalized support to clients based on their individual needs and preferences
- Assisting with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household tasks
- Supporting clients to participate in community activities, social outings, and recreational events
- Monitoring and documenting clients' progress and well-being, and communicating any concerns to the appropriate team members
- Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all clients, while promoting respect and dignity in all interactions
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in disability support or a related field is highly desirable, but not essential. We value diversity and encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply.
Requirements:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or a related field (desirable)
- Clear National Police Check
- First Aid and CPR certifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
