ABOUT THE ROLE
New Chapter is expanding our team of dedicated, passionate, and committed Support Workers who provide direct support to participants with complex support needs ranging from Community Access, Supported Independent Living, Sleepover shifts and assistance with transport amongst others.
Reporting directly to the Team, Program Experience and Operation Leaders, in this role you will work with children and young adults all over Hobart and greater region including Huonville, New Norfolk and Brighton and everywhere in between, work closely with the team and have the ability to travel.
The majority of our supports are in a one-on-one setting, so you won't be required to assist multiple participants at the same time. All positions will be offered as casual with the potential for permanency after time.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for people who;
  • Are self-motivated and have a real desire to make a difference to the lives of people living with a disability;
  • Able to build positive relationships and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities;
  • Reliable, flexible with good availability and a willingness to learn and take on feedback;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety and compliance with NDIS requirements;
  • Demonstrate a problem-solving approach with the ability to think on their feet under pressure;
  • Passionate about providing high quality supports and adaptable can-do in approach.
  • Great communication skills (verbal & written) and can use mobile Rostering application.
A FEW COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE A MUST (or willing to obtain prior to employment):
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Current Driver’s License and Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance;
  • Current National Police Check;
  • Rights to work in Australia.
A FEW REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE HIGHLY DESIRABLE HOWEVER NOT ESSENTIAL:
  • Relevant Qualifications such as, Certificate in Individual Support, Aged Care and/or Home and Community Care, Manual Handling and Assist Participants with Medications;
  • Experience working with individuals in complex care such as PEG feeding, behaviours of concern and the administration of medications and/or qualifications;
  • Experience with palliative care and supporting participants with mental health.

Pay: From $41.76 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 38 per week
