Employer: Sophia Tolli Australia Pty Ltd Dressmaker- Bridal Wear We are a boutique bridal design business based in Sydney, Australia and our designs are sold in Australia and globally in our key markets of USA, UK and Europe. Our vision is to make every bride feel confident, empowered and beautiful on their wedding day. We are seeking a Dressmaker to join our dynamic and fast-paced team, and work in our studio in Sydney CBD. Your duties will include the following: · Work with the Head Designer in making wedding dress samples according to the related design. · Assists Head Designer in the creative process and applies technical expertise to find workable solutions. · Interpret Head Designer’s sketches and designs to create dress patterns, and cuts and sews gowns to the approved technical standards. · Applies delicate laces to gowns according to the approved design and hand stitches the laces to the gown. · Works on intricate hand beading and hand finishing of gowns. · Adjusts and alters bridal samples according to the Head Designer’s instructions. · Prepares dress patterns and digital documentation with detailed technical instructions, for offshore manufacturers. · Communicates accurately with offshore manufacturers when required. · Carries out quality control checks on all dress samples and ensures quality standards are established and maintained throughout all gowns. · Assists in preparing dresses and related items for photoshoots. · Assists on set at photoshoots- steaming dresses, dressing models, packing and unpacking as required. · Assist in packing and shipping dress samples. What we are looking for:
Relevant Certificate IV + 2 years’ experience, or equivalent professional experience.
Industry experience in dressmaking, quality assurance, and product development. Experience in bridal wear is preferred but not essential.
Demonstrated high-level understanding of garment sampling and production processes.
Impeccable attention to detail.
Process-orientated, with a strong ability to manage projects and timelines.
Ability to clearly document processes for communication.
Proficient in Microsoft office and Adobe Photoshop.
Excellent organisational skills and strong work ethic.
Ability to multi-task and build a rapport with team members.
Ability to work autonomously or part of a team when required.
This is a full-time role and the salary for this role is $73,500 + super per year. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $73,500.00 per year Schedule:
