About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Dental Services team as a Dental Assistant, where you will be responsible for:

• Ensure standards of practice are maintained according to the Division's standards.
• Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds. Model a positive approach and commitment to customer service.
• Provide effective problem-solving skills to deliver flexible services that meet clients' needs while working effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide chair-side dental assistance to dental practitioners. Maintain and promote infection control and contribute to the reprocessing of reusable medical devices (RMD).
• Perform and document routine testing, cleaning, maintenance, and reporting of breakages for dental and RMD reprocessing equipment.
• Re-stock clinical areas, monitor and rotate stock, and prepare stores requisitions while ensuring new stock is received and receipted.
• Enrich the team environment with positive contributions, recognising health, safety, and welfare responsibilities, commitment to learning, and acknowledgment of differences. Voice views and concerns constructively.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• In-depth knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, instruments, materials, procedures, and contemporary infection control and sterilisation practices.
• Understanding of OHSW principles, Equal Opportunity, the Public Sector Act 2009 Code of Ethics, and diversity requirements relevant to the position.
• Experience in maintaining administrative systems. Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven ability to work as part of a team, build positive relationships, and collaborate effectively with others.
• Proven ability to problem-solve, manage priorities, and organize workload efficiently. Familiarity with confidentiality and information security policies and procedures.
