About the Role As a Locomotive Driver within our NSW Bulk business, you will prepare and operate locomotives and trains in a safe manner that complies with operational procedures in our Parkes depot. In tandem with this objective, you will play a key role in ensuring that customer and operational requirements are met, with a particular focus on safety, delivery and quality. Key responsibilities include:
Performing/coordinating shunting movements, both independently and in cooperation with Shift Managers, in accordance with established procedures and standards.
Processing and monitoring train performance information.
Provisioning and preparing locomotives for train operations including checking and testing control systems as well as preparing relevant compliance documentation.
Working with key internal stakeholders to work towards a Delivered In-Full, On-Time (DIFOT) performance for the Pacific National group.
Proactively working towards and supporting the achievement of safety goals.
On-going commitment to company values of safety, integrity, accountability and teamwork.
About You The ideal candidate will either be a qualified Locomotive driver holding a full Certificate IV in Train Driving, or a qualified Driver Assistant holding partial qualifications which contribute to a Certificate IV in Train Driving. We are also looking for individuals who wants a career in the rail industry. You will also possess the following skills, attributes and experience:
A high regard for safety and a positive and supportive attitude when working within a team environment
A basic level of computer proficiency
A strong customer focused approach to your work
Passion for success and willingness to undertake ongoing training and development activities
A genuine interest in adding value and helping our business to grow
Current motor vehicle licence is essential.
