About the role The role of the Barista & Tuckshop Assistant Convenor is to provide necessary support to the Tuckshop Convenor to facilitate the efficient operation of the tuckshop. Can you make a good coffee? Barista experience is essential for this position. Within this role the Assistant Tuckshop Convenor will:
Positively promote the P&F Auxiliary to the parents of the school.
Encourage parent volunteer involvement.
Assist the Convenor in duties as required, not limited to but including;
Prepare food and meals for sale as set by Convenor.
Prepare delicious coffees and beverages for customers.
Maintain cafe equipment.
Supervise and direct volunteers with food preparation.
Maintain stock levels and stock rotation as required.
Other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the Convenor.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
Manage the Tuckshop in the Convenor’s absence, not limited to but including;
Support Volunteers with daily tasks or on issues that may arise.
Maintain cheerful environment for volunteers.
Maintain communication with Convenor on all aspects of Tuckshop operation.
End of Day closing procedures.
Assist, where possible, with some P&F Auxiliary functions e.g Open Day.
Seek support and assistance from Convenor and/or Business Manager if necessary.
Shops are operated by the P&F Auxiliary. The Assistant Convenor reports directly to the Convenor. Skills/Attributes
Exceptional customer service skills dealing with adults and children
Flexibility, initiative, and integrity
Well-developed organisation and communication skills
Some commercial kitchen is highly preferred but not essential
All training will be provided
Hours
The position is required during term-time for approximately 37 weeks per year.
Expected Hours: Monday – Friday: 8.00am - 2.00pm
These hours may be varied for the successful applicant.
Requirements
The Tuckshop Assistant Convenor must be eligible to hold a Blue Card.
The Tuckshop Assistant Convenor will be required to undertake a Food Handling Safety course recognized in Queensland.
