The Learning and Development section is looking for experienced facilitators to join our team. Our vision is to be a contemporary, professional HR service that delivers effectively and efficiently for the business and has the client at the centre of what we do. We are building out in-house facilitation offerings and are looking to expand the existing team.
The Learning and Development section in the People Service Branch is looking for Learning and Development facilitators to join our team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that effective capability initiatives are implemented and delivered to support the DVA’s strategic priorities and to bring our workforce strategy to life. Our ideal candidates are agile and responsive people who are committed to delivering exceptional customer service and establishing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. We are seeking candidates who possess strong organisational and interpersonal skills, can manage competing priorities, and are flexible to change.
Duties
- create and deliver learning solutions aligned to our Workforce Strategy and Capability Framework to uplift capability across the department
- have a solid understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design and training facilitation
- build and maintain professional knowledge and expertise as required, promoting a learning culture
- support the implementation of learning and development solutions to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and APS and departmental policies
- undertake stakeholder communications, reporting, and promotional planning and activities
- contribute to team activities such as planning, setting priorities, knowledge sharing and team building
- build professional networks across the APS and industry networks
- contribute to cross-section or DVA-wide working groups or projects.
Eligibility
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
- The successful candidate will be required obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
