Description:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day delivery and oversight of ground handling activities, including stakeholder management. This role has a strong focus on achieving safety, operational and financial scorecard metrics, in addition to achieving an extremely high standard of customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in, manage and oversee Star Aviation’s day-to-day ground handling operations, including cabin cleaning.
- Lead and manage operational staff to ensure appropriate oversight of daily operations through provision of general and direct guidance to the team.
- Performing progress and final checks and signing off airline requirements particularly in relation to loading and unloading of aircraft.
- Planning and utilising staff and resources effectively to ensure that schedule delivery, cost and service levels are met.
- Investigate delays and service failures and work with the relevant internal and external teams to resolve.
- Assist with the calculation of budgets and cost models.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key airport personnel, liaising with airport operators to ensure airport facilities meet Star Aviation’s requirements.
Skills and Experiences:

- Certificate III in Aviation (Ground Operations and Service)
- A valid driver licence
- A valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- A Valid Authority to Drive Airside Card (ADA)
- Senior First Aid Certification
- Highly competent and previous experience in the operational requirements of Ground handling to perform above and below wing operations.
- Demonstrated achievements in managing, motivating and leading teams.
- Experience in developing and implementing business improvements and change management strategies.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, with a strong ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines
- Customer focus to deliver exceptional service
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations and working in a fast-paced team environment.
