The Role: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager with a strong background in Accounts Payable (AP) to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, with a focus on the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable transactions. This position requires leadership skills to manage a small team, along with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Management:
Oversee the full-cycle AP process, including invoice receipt, coding, approval, and payment.
Maintain and manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely communication and resolution of disputes.
Implement and maintain best practices for AP procedures, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Experience with AP automation tools is a plus
Accounting Operations:
Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance and month-end close activities.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Ensure workloads are balanced, and tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Reporting & Analysis:
Generate and analyze AP aging reports, cash flow forecasts, and other financial reports as needed.
Provide regular updates to senior management on AP performance, cash outflows, and outstanding liabilities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on Accounts Payable.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Quick Books)
Experience with AP automation tools (Bill.com, Coupa, Ramp, Brex, Mineral Tree, Tipalti, etc.)
Knowledge of US GAAP and US accounting principles preferred but other GAAP, IFRS experience considered
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
