Job Description

Seeking a qualified and suitably motivated Electrician – Auto (Underground Equipment) to perform all aspects of maintenance, repair, testing, and monitoring of underground mobile equipment, and heavy and auxiliary equipment to ensure its availability, reliability, and safety in a quality, efficient, safe, and environment-friendly manner. Reporting to the Supervisor – Mobile Maintenance (UG Equipment).
Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Complete all the necessary documentation such as work orders, and time sheets for future reference
• Communicate with others about the assigned task and discuss the outcome of the risk assessment
• Troubleshoot and repair all underground heavy mobile equipment electrical systems including but not limited to basic electrical systems, PLC systems, remote control systems, and rig control systems
• Ensure the safe operation of underground mobile equipment by conducting preventive maintenance as required and troubleshooting any malfunctions
• Carries out skilled maintenance and can work independently in the repair of underground heavy mobile equipment, and other auxiliary equipment
• Diagnose and undertake electrical repair on wide variety of vehicles and equipment
• Assist Mechanics in conducting repairs on light and heavy equipment, and other auxiliary equipment
• Suggest ways to prevent future equipment malfunction or improve equipment performance
• Perform tool-keeping and housekeeping duties, and take accountability on issued and toolroom tools and equipment to ensure they are kept tidy, safe to use, and complete
• Maintain good housekeeping in work areas and around workshops
• Complete Timesheets timely

Qualifications

• Behaviour consistent with Oceana Gold Corp. Values and the Oceana Gold Way
• High school graduate and accredited certification
• 5 years of experience in maintaining the electrical system of heavy mobile equipment
• With a valid Driver’s license
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
• Able to read and write English at an acceptable standard
• High level of enthusiasm for the work with high-performance goals for self and team
