Village Assistant

This Village Assistant position at the Bupa Totara Gardens Retirement Village is a permanent part-time position, working 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays required. This role will assist with the day-to-day operations and administration of the village, overseeing resident wellbeing, activities, and satisfaction across our 78 villas and 14 serviced apartments.
Hours of work would ideally be 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday with some flexibility available.
This role will suit someone with a warm, engaging, bubbly personality who is customer-focused, proactive, eager to learn, and can work autonomously and within a team. You will have strong computer skills, ability to multi-task, have high standards of customer service, and enjoy a varied role. Where You Will Make an Impact
- Support the Village Manager with the day-to-day operations of the village, and the running of the office and administration tasks.
- Support the Village Manager with maintaining resident welfare and wellbeing.
- Assist the Village Manager with orientation programmes for new residents.
- Ability to show prospective residents available villas and apartments and be the first point of contact for current residents.
- Organise and implement activities and van trips with the residents.
- Ensure residents are given opportunities to participate in all entertainment offerings and develop new skills and hobbies.
- Ensure appropriate transport arrangements are in place for residents for outings.
What About You
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role with strong administration skills.
- You will enjoy a role with variety, using your own initiative, and being proactive.
- High level of computer literacy and data entry, including expertise with Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism and standards.
- A current driver's license with at least five years driving experience in NZ as you will be required to drive a company van.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
