Mō te Mātou | About the Role:
As the Senior Safety Manager
, you will be pivotal in developing and executing our national safety strategy. You’ll play a crucial role in upgrading our safety systems to meet the tertiary standard by April 2025, in alignment with the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) program.
Provide strategic recommendations and initiatives for improved health and safety performance.
Lead the development of the health safety framework to align with Linfox NZ’s objectives.
Develop, deliver and drive strategies, policies and standards.
Develop effective strategies to mitigate risks.
Develop and execute a comprehensive safety plan tailored to operational risks.
Influence and secure commitment from senior management on safety initiatives.
Drive improvements to meet new audit standards for ACC AEP inclusion (Tertiary level).
He Kōrero Mōu | About You:
To be successful in this role you must possess strong negotiating skills and the confidence to push back when needed. This will enable you to effectively manage safety risks, promote positive safety behaviours, and ensure compliance processes are aligned with audit standards.
5+ years in operational health and safety within a multi-site organisation - ACC accredited employer experience preferred.
Formal qualification in Health and Safety - Level 6 or higher.
Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
Strong initiative and self-management skills.
Proficient in the NZ Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and Quality and Environmental Management Systems (e.g., NZS4801, ISO9001).
Previous experience in the transport industry is a plus.
Willingness to travel regularly throughout New Zealand.
