Job description
Security Officer Job Description:
In your role as a security officer, you will regularly interact with customers or clients. This can be in a range of different services: static security, bar security, retail security, loss prevention, crowd controlling and security patrols.
Mandatory security training is your first step to progressing in your career pathway and must be completed before your probationary period has been completed.
Training for this in includes:
  • Security licenses & offences.
  • De-escalation & escalating techniques.
  • Control & Restraint training.
  • Drugs, Alcohol & Its effects on the body.
  • Policies & procedure training.
This is followed with first responder first aid training and fire safety training. Once this is completed you are ready to progress your career further.
All skills required for the job are taught before you enter the work environment. You will be closely working with the Assistant-security Manager and your Security Manager.
Some Duties may include:
  • Upholding and assisting staff with liquor licensing and host responsibility.
  • Verify legitimacy of passport, driver license or identification of the customers entering premises.
  • Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
  • Monitor alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
  • Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.
  • Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
  • Report in detail any suspicious incidents.
  • Identification of the Effects that alcohol & drugs have on the body.
  • De-escalate conflict situation.
  • Restraint or removal of civilians off premises.
  • Provide assistance to people in need.
  • Perform first aid or CPR.
  • Following all policies and procedures.

Job Types: Permanent, Casual
Pay: $25.57 – $35.10 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
Schedule:
  • Evening shift
  • Public holidays
  • Weekend availability
  • Weekends only
