We have an exciting opportunity for a Produce 2IC to join our awesome produce team at New World Hokitika. Join us in delivering the finest produce to our customers while advancing your career in the exciting world of grocery retail!
As the Produce Assistant Manager at New World Hokitika, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our produce department. Your primary role will be to assist the Produce Manager with overseeing the daily operations of the department, managing a team of produce assistants, and maintaining the highest standards of freshness and quality for our customers.
Day to day:
This is a permanent fulltime position working Sunday to Thursday (40 hours).

As the Produce Assistant Manager at New World Hokitika, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our produce department. Your primary role will be to assist the Produce Manager with overseeing the daily operations of the department, managing a team of produce assistants, and maintaining the highest standards of freshness and quality for our customers.
Day to day:
- Report into the Produce Manager, helping to ensure department targets and operational delivery standards are met or exceeded.
- Assist with ordering and buying for the Produce department, making sure range matches the format and customer requirements.
- Ensure the department is full, fresh and appealing throughout the hours of trade and that stock levels are controlled appropriately.
- Deputise for the Produce Manager as required.
- Ensure staff are well trained and motivated to provide the best shopping experience for our customers.
- Compliance with our Food Control Plan and Health and Safety requirements.
- Has a passion for fresh produce and a good eye for quality and presentation.
- Previous experience in produce departments is advantageous.
- SAP and stock ordering experience.
- Is computer literate and keen to learn and use the latest technology.
- Has great people skills and the ability to lead a small team.
- Has proven customer service experience.
