About the team | Ko te rōpū nei
The Council provides a cycle safety programme for primary schools all over the city which targets 10 and 11 year olds and aims to improve the cycling skills of tamariki and to encourage them to cycle.
We're after enthusiastic instructors who are full of energy to help deliver our worthwhile Cycle Safe programme. As a team, we value people who can share our vision, to make Christchurch a cycle city - those who turn up to work full of energy and have a true passion for the work that they do.

You are positive, energetic and excited to be a part of fostering a cycling culture for our rangatahi. You will have the patience and attitude to work in this rewarding environment, seeing children gain confidence in their personal ability on a daily basis. What experience is needed?
You will have knowledge of the road code with practical cycling skills and experience. To set you up for success you will have a natural ability to coach and manage groups of school students. This position requires you to assist with the physical aspects of the programme and to maintain a positive attitude. Proven time management skills and contributing to a great team culture will come naturally to you. You pride yourself on your honesty, integrity and a high level of workplace maturity.

This opportunity is part time between the hours of 8:45am and 3.00pm during primary schools terms. As a Cycle Safe Instructor you do not work during the school holidays but you may be required to attend any professional development sessions.

Hours of work - Monday to Friday 8:45am to 3pm
Position - Permanent Part-Time
Location - This position is based at primary schools across Christchurch
Salary - The hourly rate for this position goes from $27.80 to $30.31 an hour. Starting rates will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
