Job Title: Purchasing Officer Location: [Ombak Collective] Job Summary: The Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services for two restaurant locations, ensuring that both restaurants have the necessary supplies to operate efficiently. This role involves sourcing, negotiating contracts, maintaining supplier relationships, and controlling inventory levels to meet the culinary and operational needs of the restaurants. Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve optimal terms.
Place and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Inventory Control:
Monitor inventory levels in both restaurants to prevent shortages or excess stock.
Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain accurate inventory records.
Implement inventory control systems and practices to manage stock efficiently.
Cost Management:
Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
Prepare and manage the purchasing budget for both restaurants.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.
Address any issues related to deliveries, quality discrepancies, or pricing concerns with suppliers.
Stay updated on new products and services offered by suppliers.
Collaboration:
Work closely with kitchen staff and management to understand purchasing needs and requirements.
Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure a seamless supply chain operation.
Participate in menu planning and development to align procurement with culinary goals.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the procurement of food and other supplies.
Prepare reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and supplier performance.
Maintain accurate records of all purchases and agreements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
