We are on the hunt for UXO Field Assistants (UXOFA) to join our team on a casual basis to support the delivery of projects in the region. This position is required to support the Explosives Engineering Services (EES) Business Unit in the AAP Region. The Explosives Engineering Services are a fast-growing team that work globally to give advice and consultancy to clients on Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) and Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) risk on sites. As a globally based UXO Specialist Consultancy, Tetra Tech RPS Energy holds several accreditations and panel memberships specifically for Unexploded Ordnance operations. Key Responsibilities: This role’s primary responsibility is to support in the delivery of UXO and Explosive Ordnance Material (EOM) identification and remediation projects and to assist in mitigating risk caused by UXO and Explosive Ordnance Material (EOM) both on and off the Defence Estate, using a strong awareness of health and safety and risk management. In support of delivering projects, the UXO Field Assistant is responsible, but limited to, the following:
Supporting the team as project issues arise during project execution;
Conducting activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards;
Additional duties as required.
What you’ll be doing: UXO Field Assistant is qualified to undertake the role and with other Field Assistants carries out skilled UXO tasks needed to undertake UXO remediation projects.
Support project initiation phase including planning and coordinating of associate schedules, travel and logistics.
Support the team as project issues arise during project execution
Conducts activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
Pursues continuous professional development and maintains a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Additional duties as required.
Desirable Experience & Skills: No experience required prior to completing appropriate course or on job training. The primary qualifications for becoming a UXO Field Assistant include completion of a training program and capable of passing a physical, if required, prior to starting work. However, knowledge of UXO identification, handling and remediation methods is beneficial.

Candidate must have excellent judgment, communication skills, and the ability to remember complex safety guidelines;
Candidate must have the ability to work in an efficient and disciplined manner, within predefined time constraints, to achieve multiple simultaneous deadlines;
Candidate must have the ability to work outdoors in variable terrain and conditions.
