Our company is one of the largest providers of transportation in North America. We are seeking a Fleet Shop Manager to coordinate maintenance/mechanical needs at our facility in Southwest Pennsylvania. This manager would be responsible for the coordination, scheduling and auditing of maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical and electrical repair for vehicles in the terminal fleet. You will have access to technology, tools and training. You will also be involved in the hiring and training of mechanics (team of three) to insure we are able to meet customer requirements. Qualified applicants should have:
High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented by specialized vehicle and equipment repair courses applicable to diesel bus or truck maintenance and repair;
At least two (2) years supervisory experience as a lead mechanic and manager in an automotive, bus, trucking, or heavy equipment environment.
ASE certification is a plus but not required.
Valid Class B CDL is preferred or obtained within 3 months of employment.
PA State Inspection License Class 7 is preferred or obtained within 3 months of employment.
Must have own tools. (company provides specialty tools and anything over ¾”)
Administrative skills to oversee maintenance related invoices, repair time, efficiency from mechanic team, tracking trends on work orders and month end requirements for the terminal;
Preventative Maintenance Program experience;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web based applications preferred;
Financial skills to participate in developing yearly maintenance budgets for the terminal;
Technical skills to perform/oversee PM inspections and system field tests;
Flexibility to perform emergency roadside services, if needed;
Housekeeping experience to supply and maintain tools and work place so that shop conditions are neat and orderly and terminal is safe for all who work there;
Other duties as designated by Terminal Manager or STA Regional Management.
