Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in sourcing equipment, goods, and services, while managing vendor relationships and overseeing receiving processes to ensure our teams have the resources they need. The ideal candidate will excel in negotiating, managing inventory levels, and optimizing procurement processes in alignment with our company values of humility, hunger, caring, and loyalty.
Key Responsibilities

Source and procure items by negotiating prices, delivery schedules, and terms with vendors.
Manage purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate tracking, expediting as necessary.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal teams.
Verify prices on purchase orders and coordinate with project managers to meet specific project requirements.
Maintain inventory levels, ensuring minimum and maximum stock levels for the service team.
Address and resolve backorders, returns, and vendor-related issues promptly.
Identify and evaluate new vendor sources to optimize cost efficiency and quality.
Respond to inquiries from staff and management regarding purchasing procedures and order statuses.
Maintain accurate departmental files and records for streamlined procurement processes.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; a degree in a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in purchasing, preferably within the plumbing or HVAC industry.
Proven ability to achieve cost savings and build strong vendor partnerships.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to follow-through.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with preferred experience in Quick Books and Service Titan inventory management software.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods, working on computers and analyzing data.
Mobility to attend meetings throughout the company as needed.
Ability to occasionally lift 15-20 pounds.
