### **Job Summary:** The Banquet Guest Service Agent (Banquet GSA) is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of banquet functions, delivering outstanding service to guests, and supporting the banquet team in preparing for and hosting events. You will assist in setting up venues, serving guests during events, and resolving any issues to ensure a seamless experience for attendees. The Banquet GSA plays a crucial role in upholding high standards of service in line with the hotel's reputation. ### **Key Responsibilities:** - **Event Preparation:** - Assist in setting up banquet rooms according to event specifications (e.g., arranging tables, chairs, linens, and décor). - Coordinate with the banquet captain or event coordinator to ensure all guest requirements are met before the event. - Ensure audio-visual equipment, staging, and catering setups are in place and functioning properly. - **Guest Service During Events:** - Greet and welcome guests upon arrival at the banquet or event. - Provide attentive service throughout the event, ensuring that guests’ needs (e.g., food, beverages, special requests) are met promptly. - Address guest inquiries and resolve any service-related issues during the event in a courteous manner. - Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization throughout the event, clearing tables and replenishing food and beverages as needed. - **Food & Beverage Service:** - Serve food and beverages according to the standards and guidelines set by the hotel or event organizer. - Assist in buffet setup or plated service based on the event’s format. - Handle food and beverage requests during the event and ensure timely and professional service. - **Post-Event Responsibilities:** - Assist in clearing the event space after the function, removing all event materials, cleaning up, and resetting the room for the next function. - Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the Banquet Manager. - Ensure all guest feedback is communicated to the Banquet Manager or Event Manager for post-event evaluation. - **Team Collaboration:** - Work closely with the kitchen staff, banquet captains, and event coordinators to ensure smooth communication and efficient service during events. - Support fellow team members and other departments when necessary to maintain a positive and productive work environment. ### **Qualifications and Skills:** - **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or food service training is a plus. - **Experience**: Previous experience in banquets, catering, or food and beverage service is preferred. - **Skills**: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations during large events. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Customer-focused with a positive, can-do attitude. - **Other Requirements**: - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift heavy items (e.g., tables, chairs, equipment). - Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. - Professional appearance and commitment to maintaining service standards. ### **Work Environment:** - Banquet or event venue setting within the hotel or event center. - Fast-paced environment with high guest interaction. - Frequent lifting, standing, and moving of furniture and equipment. --- ### **Benefits:** - Competitive hourly wage or salary, plus potential for tips and service charge distribution. - Employee discounts on hotel stays and dining. - Opportunities for professional development and career advancement in hospitality.
